Decolonising the Arts Curriculum: Perspectives in
Higher Education Launch

Central St Martins College of Art and Design, UAL Jo, Pamela Jikiemi, and Michael McMillan are currently involved in this UAL wide movement that is led by the institutions Teaching and Learning Exchange and Student Union. On June 14th, UAL TLE and the SU launched the Decolonising the Arts Curriculum: Perspectives in Higher Education eZine at Central St Martins. Having contributed to the eZine, both Jo and Michael presented their contributions at the launch to staff, students, and the public. Jo’s contribution shared the key principles that she has taken away from her own teaching to suggest ways in which practitioners may decolonise their teaching and the curriculum. The conversation is ongoing with cross insitutional projects planned for 2019 and 2020, so watch this space as there is more to come.
